Fleet Engineer
Description:
We are looking for a Fleet Engineer to join our expanding team. Based in Bordon, Hampshire and reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in our Senior Management team. You will work closely with our Operations Director, Depot/Transport Mangers along with our Account Managers and Financial Accountant.
The successful candidate will be expected to have full responsibility for all matters relating to our fleet across all sites and depots for Maintenance Programs, Compliance and Operating Centres.
Responsibilities:
- You will be required to go on the O license and will be responsible for managing compliance across the Fleet, Service, Transport and Driver Hours Compliance.
- Ability to thoroughly and holistically audit and check all areas regarding legal compliance and regulatory adherence to UK transport laws and requirements
- Drive efficiency of the operational spend and maintain all fleet related costs in addition to time-based staff
- Ensures that all relevant legislative requirements are adhered to and that Company procedures and standards are maintained
- The ability to deliver vigorous cost controls including whole life costs whilst increasing asset availability
- Monthly delivery of KPI reports
- Develops the operation and teams to meet financial and efficiency targets through a continuous improvement approach
- Deliver improving financial performance for the operation, ensuring the site meets budget commitments. (repeat of highlighted item below)
- Sets and agrees clear objectives with all operational staff, regularly monitoring their performance and taking corrective action where appropriate
- Analyses training needs for all staff ensuring that training complies with Company policy and is monitored for effectiveness
- Compliance with legal & regulatory framework
- Budget holder and operational responsibility for key areas – workshops, transport, fleet management, drivers
- Procurement & supply chain responsibilities
- Development of team skills & capability
Essential requirements:
International CPC holder with an in-depth knowledge of current Transport legislation is essential
Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment
Profit & Loss experience
Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical service
Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI’s
Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment
Excellent communication and negotiation skills at all levels.
Leads and motivates staff through positive employee engagement through open communication
Willingness to undertake frequent travel and overnight stays to other depots, sites and suppliers.
